The club voted to 1 wholeheartedly support the war j fund. K. C. Wright, who has moved to Morgan ton. resigned as a mem ber of the club and asked for a 1 transfer to the Morganton club. The public is cordially invited to attend. SERVING IN PRANCE Sgt. James M. Bingham son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bingham of Mur phy is now serving in Prance with the American Expeditionary Force and has been awarded the com bat. infantry medal and the bronze star for exemplary conduct. He received his basic training at Port McClellan. Ala. Before he was sent to Fiance he served in Eng land and Ireland. SPEAKS AT YOUNG HAUI8 The Rev. Pfc. ?Slagle has been in the army for i he past 20 month- of which fif teen has been spen: overseas. He has served in North Africa, Sicily. Italy, and now is in Fiance. J. M. Cornwell has purchased half interest in Murphy Market. All friends and customers are welcome.
